Our History
Steve Schlitt started installing floors in 1989. He started installing for Country Manor Decorating in 1993 and did so until 2000. Following that he worked with over 80 installers in the course of three years, increasing his knowledge of Flooring.
By 2013 he had several flooring shops he had worked with throughout St. Louis. In September 2015 Steve bought Country Manor Decorating and has been running the day-to-day operations ever since.
By 2017 the team outgrew their location and started looking for land to build a new showroom and warehouse. They found their new property in February 2019 and closed on it that September they moved into the new building in April 2020.
Steve has always had a vision for multiple locations to better serve their clients in the areas which the clients lived, so in April of 2025 they opened their second location in Eureka Mo.
Steve and Amanda met in 2013 and married April 2015. Steve has always said that Amanda was the missing piece to his dream of owning his own retail store. She has been extremely important in keeping the book straight and working with customers, Amanda has gotten her interior decorating design credentials and continues to serve customers with custom designs for their homes.
Their four children, Tyler, Dylan Caden, and Alivia work with them as well. Dylan has now started up his own company with installations and installs hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile and laminate flooring.
Tyler is the warehouse manager and takes care of warehouse day to day operations and getting the installers projects together.
Caden is out there working for others, getting life experience and Alivia helps out in the showroom some and is homeschooled. She still has a couple years to go in school.
